Web 2.0, Military Style

After reading the comments to my last post, I decided to surf for more info on the military and web 2.0. While it's definitely not revolutionary information, it was interesting to see that there at least seems to be a mostly favorable view of web 2.0 and a slow push towards using it.

The article WTF? Military Web 2.0 Report Actually Making Sense describes several functions of web 2.0 in the military - sharing info within agencies, between agencies, with the public, and gaining input from the public. Additionally, Web 2.0, Military Style discusses how web 2.0 and similar technologies are used by the warfighter in the field.

So, there seems to be a flicker of hope for integrating web 2.0 into my new work environment!

  1. Cool- I'm glad to see that it is beginning to take shape. I think as some of the older leadership retires, it will be a more native undertaking and we'll see less resistance to it, and more "let's make use of this" type attitudes.
